Keeping the water from freezing is likely your biggest issue in winter. The chickens will do fine in the cold. Mine got through a particularly harsh winter here in Chicago (temps down to -10 F at night, not counting the wind chill factor) just fine. However, I did have to use an immersion heater to keep their water from freezing.
