Cooked or raw squash seeds?

Should I cook the winter squash seeds or can they eat them raw? I am boiling the squash so should I boil the seeds with it?

I have always fed raw squash seeds, and my chickens seem to do fine. However, I think the seeds are more palatable to them when cooked

Do what you wish, but I always gut the raw squash, scoop out the guts and seeds, and then whiz them. Mix with their feed. is your goal providing some worming action?

I give mine the whole pumkin I just bust it open and most of them just love it, a few are a little stand offish

I throw the seeds in the blender then add the ground seeds to some water and simmer awhile on the stove add some oatmeal allow to cool and feed to the chickens. Sometimes I cook the pumpkin pulp and throw the softened pulp in the blender along with the seeds and feed that to the chickens.
