Was talking with a neighbor about her flock today. She told me that once a week she cooks them an "extra egg quiche" using Bisquick and any left over eggs and veggies she has around. Said she has been doing this for 40+ years! Anybody else cook for their birds? About the most I have ever done is put some eggs, shell and all, in the blender, add garlic and DE, blend, than scramble.

Just the other day I cracked an egg so I made them scrambled eggs then stirred in the eggs shells and strawberry greens and cutoffs. They LOVE that!

I also make oatmeal and yogart on occation.

And when I was freezing veggies, I would make up the broccolli for us and the left over stems and stuff, I would cook last and give that to them. They love that too.

I saute them eggshells in butter and oil..............even the dogs go nuts....................
Oatmeal with shells in them.....old bread soaked with water and baked with birdseed in them...................

The only thing I make special for my girls is oatmeal, to which I add a few tasty bits of things I have on hand. Now, if I have leftover egg mixture when making french toast I'll go ahead and fry that up for them...

So I'm way over the top!! scrambled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt and sunflower seeds, frozen peas and carrots cooked Plus watermelon and cantalope, pasta/ wide egg noodles, the favorite papaya?? They get one of these a day. They Love a roast turkey carcass, not my fault read it here!!

Wow. Mine get leftovers sometimes.

The only thing I cook just for them is oatmeal (and only when it is really cold and nasty outside.) I usually add yogurt or cottage cheese or something to it and throw in a handful of Layena crumbles so that it's like a hot mash. They go nuts.
