What a clever idea. We have an old mini-van parked out in our meadow that at the current time is serving four purposes...maybe 3 and 1/2 purposes. First and most importantly, having it on our insurance and listed as our teen-aged son's main form of transportation keeps our insurance rates way down. Second, it serves as sort of a temporary storage locker for my son's college room furniture and the 1/2 purpose is that if we are willing to jump-start it and face possible engine malfunction, it can be used to haul stuff to the dump. Perhaps next summer, when it is no longer needed as a storage locker I'll convert it into a chicken coop/tractor for the meat chickens I'm thinking about getting. We could probably keep a valid plate on it and still save on our insurance (unless you folks turn me in!) I could even jump start it every week or so and move it around the meadow...or heck, invest in a new battery!
