I watched one of our new Tetra Tints lay this egg this morning. It looks like it's been splashed with textured paint! Is that normal? Will her eggs always look like this?
Pretty wild looking!
My understanding is that color is put on the shell as the last part of egg development and in the beginning it can be "spotty". No pun intended! I'm really new though so I may be wrong.
Phew! Thanks.
I kind of wish they would stay that way. It's kind of neat!
I have enjoyed watching them lay their first ever eggs. They are shocked and fascinated by what just came out of them. It's so funny!
