One of my favorite hens is an EE who had all her back feathers pulled off by a rooster. I got her that condition back in June. Her back has been completely bare since then but now that it's getting in the 40s and 50s her feathers are coming in like crazy. It's insane! I can only conclude it's because of the coming winter. Any way this may be old news to you vets but as a noob I was worried her feathers would never come back.

your hen is proabally going through a moult. My chickens commonly do this every spring and fall, it's normal. when they moult they stop laying eggs and begin to lose/regrow feathers. They are so beautiful when they just finish a moult, you can realize how much thier feathers fade... good luck with your chickens!
