[The Lazy L]

While I'm waiting for a back ordered item to complete my Plan A "coon surprise" (insert evil laugh) I moved on to Plan B.

Plan B is the live trap wife used to capture stray cats so she could get them fix.

Day 1. Setup trap by coop with 2 marshmallows on the trigger plate. Next morning no marshmallows, no coon. Coon 1 - Lazy L 0

Day 2. Using coat hanger wire I made a Shish Kabob stick. Ran the stick thru the side of the cage with the marshmallow hanging just above the trigger plate. (Insert another evil laugh). Next morning no marshmallow, no coon. Coon 2 - Lazy L 0

Day 3. Made a longer Shish Kabob stick and bent both ends down in a "L" shape. The "L" will prevent the Coon from pulling the stick thru the cage! Add another marshmallow and....Next morning stick is laying outside of the cage, no marshmallow, no coon. Coon 3 - Lazy L 0

Day 4. Using coat hanger wire I made a giant paper clip. The paper clip slides onto the edge of the trigger plate with the middle of the paper clip sticking straight up for a marshmallow. Next morning (drum roll please) Coon 3 - Lazy L 1. When I get home tonight the coon will be relocated to Coon Dog heaven.

Glad you finally got something to work. I noticed that often the chipmunks and even ANTS will eat up my live trap bait.Poor coon.Atleast he had a yummy last meal.

Another Day

Washed out the trap and reset it.

Stuck another marshmallow on my giant paper climb invention that caught the first coon.

Let's see if there is more then one of those pesky coons roaming around at night...THERE IS!

Coon 4 - Lazy L 1.

No coon in trap and no marshmallow.


BUT!

The use of the trap is Plan B. To implement Plan A I'm waiting on a back order part.

Another day again.

Reset the trap leaving one end door closed.

The other door set it so the trip hook bsrely catches.

The result?

Coon 4 - Lazy L 2.

After supper coon was relocated to Coon Dog heaven.

Cool! If I caught 20+ coons and 20+ possums in my little spot I am guessing you have a lot more coons. They sure mess up the traps.

Live in a woods and surrounded by woods.

The 5 thousand million stray cats the wife has on welfare ain't disappearing so I figure the coyotes haven't made it this far into the state yet.

Coons? Yep I figure I got coons.


Went to relocate #2 the same place as #1 got relocated....#1 is GONE! Guess I ain't relocating as much as recycling?
