I recently had my flock of 22 cornish cross wiped out by a family of coons.....a buddy of mine who lives just a bit away has coon hounds. I was thinking of inviting him over for a little fun on a Friday night!

Does anyone have any experience with the sucess of driving coons off with dogs. Of course we'll dispatch any they tree, but I was wondering about the others in the area? Anyone have any idea????

Sorry about your flock. Unless the dogs stay and guard the chickens, the coons will be back. Minus any that are shot. I was able to keep chickens in an open coop for years because I had some good coonhound mixes that protected the yard.

This is not the way to make a good coon dog.

I have a coon hound. He is not trained to hunt. So I believe he would be useless in Treeing a Coon. I hope your neighbors dogs are trained in hunting ...lol
