Here they are I have 2 Traps Set. Cans of Tuna wired in!! a Piece of raw chicken wired in peanut butter on bread and some oily bacon!! A Friend Said try kipper snacks!! Another friend said fried chicken or salmon cat food?

The 2 ducks were slaughtered by these coons on the morning of the 31st!!

Video taken on the 2nd.. with my trail cam..

The 3rd they were a no show.

Tonight hoping for a catch and a hat making materials. I know trapping can take time.. any pointer for Urban Cooon's?

Now once I catch and skin these coons can I make coon burger and feed to the chickens?

Of course I know you are sad about loosing your ducks.:hugs
My only suggestion,,,,, is to predator proof your coop, and run.
After you kill these 2 ,,,,, there will be 2 more,,, and after those there will be more , and more to NO END.
You will be killing predator animals that only need to have a meal. If you were in their hyde and hungry,,, you would do same.
Ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. That is why I suggest PREDATOR-PROOFING.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:)

Large Racoon Pelts Make Good Hats!! They also make good trading stock at the weekend market. I May have to go into the hat business protecting my flock and the neighbors flock. Was told tonight A few block down the street a Neighbor also lost 2 birds over the weekend. They got a taste.

any of those baits you mention should work. the stinker the better and raw versus cooked. they go thru garbage and eat anything and everything.
i am assuming you are talking about using a have a heart trap?
make sure it is sitting on a flat surface.
also make sure to test fire it to make sure the machinisms to lock the door down are working good. any mishap that allows the raccoon to escape from your trap will result in a educated raccoon who will never go in to another trap like it.
hopefully your raccoons haven't been caught and relocated to your neighborhood and released by some body else.
i also think you should fortify your coop so the remaining birds are safe.
then you can sleep well and check your traps each morning.
good luck to you and your hat making business!

X2 and X2 again.

In addition to that.....(not instead of).........if you insist on exacting your pound of flesh......plain old barn kitty dry cat food. To a coon (and skunks, foxes, possums, etc,) it is to die for.

My birds are in predator-proof coops at night. Raccoons come in and eat cat food I put out for my feral cats. I live trap all the time cause there’s always more. So predator-proof and keep trapping, works for me.

i don't really deal with urban coons, more farmland and getting into forest coons (had no idea they live up in the boreal forest)

i use cage traps and duke dog proofs in the farm land areas i trap and i will use coni-bears on my forest property. but i use dry cat food to marshmallows to bird seed for bait.

as you said urban coon i would not feed them to myself or my animals. they raid garbage and you really don't know what they have been eating or germs they carry. (i think its a type of ringworm they can carry)

but that's just me i don't eat my coons just have a tough time getting past the gross factor (but i love me some bear meat so maybe its just me)

but the fur is nice i averaged about $7 dollars last year for my coons at the local buyer (which surprised me cause i suck at skinning)
