Coop 2017

That's fine.
So does that soffit vent both levels?
Those combs are awful close to that vent <cringe>
Might need to baffle it?

Do you like walk in there and spread your arms wide, spin around and go YEAHHH!!!
Well, kind of.
If you look at the images of roof construction you can see that the roof edges overlap the top ventilation. That way the wind can't blow straight in. So yes, it is pretty much a baffle.
Their combs are much more protected in this coop than the last. I am fairly sure the last owners put more holes in the walls than boards... and they were situated right next to the roosts.

:lau I've thought about it, but my birds already think I'm nuts.

That picture really doesn't show it well. I'll get more the next time I go out with snowpants.

Yes, but wonders if wind was right it could blow in there.
Adding something inside, might also be needed.... Like cardboard tacked up on rafters to redirect any too strong breezes.

This pic seems to show that the soffit would vent the upper level too.

Possibly. If there's issues I'll fix it.
