I still need to finish painting the outside of the nestboxes and put a hinge on the lid.

Fabulous: Book marked your coop for ideas when we can get outside an are able to start ours we still have snow on the ground. I was just curious , wondering if you get snow and really cold weather. Here in upstate NY it's pretty chilly. Great Job !!! Justine

One problem I see is the top of ur nestbox will be rotten in like a month after any rain. I learned that the hard way! It will soak up the water and puff shut!

It all looks pretty good!

Funny you should ask. I live in Alabama, and we're having the biggest snowstorm we've had in years. 3 whole inches! LOL. We normally get down in the 20s in the winter, but we got down into the teens a couple of times. I put a heat lamp in the coop when it gets in the teens. They're perfectly fine in 20 degree weather though. It doesn't faze them.

I think you're right. I'm going to modify it and slope the lid. And I'll put roof tiles on top of it. There is a two foot overhang above it, but some rain will blow onto it. I wonder about the hinge though. I don't think I can make that waterproof.
