We have a tractor with a raised coop and a hole in the floor for a ramp down to the run. We have been using the wood shavings that we get from TSC. The chicks were pushing most of the shavings down until we built guards around the hole. We also have a piece of linoleum stapled to the plywood bottom of the coop. I have been cleaning it out about once a week. So here are my questions...
1. What is the best type of bedding (shavings, straw/hay, newspaper, something else)?
2. How deep should it be?
3. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Thanks!
