Coop bedding

My coop sits on concrete in our backyard. My girls free range all day. What is the best way to bed a coop and run on concrete?

I would put down a layer of sand or sweet pdz, then straw on top of that. You don't want the concrete to get saturated.

I have a 10 x 12 coop with a cement floor. I put a layer of PDZ down with about a bag & a half of pine flakes. I like the flakes better than the shavings (less dust). My floor doesn't get wet. The flakes & PDZ keep the floor dry. Right now I have 17 fourteen week old pullets in there.
