So..... we took a couple years break from chickens, but realized how much we missed them. That being said, we decided to build a new coop and run. I told my most wonderful wife "I got it baby"! Well that didnt float, bc she had a different vision in mind this time around. So she hit the internet and found what she liked and went ahead and purchased the plans. Let me tell y'all something..... that is the way to go. Everything you could possibly need is played out for ya, with perfect details until you get it finished. The downside is that it can get pricey, but we wanted to do it right. Here are a few pics of our build. Hope our girls will be happy with it :)z

It turned out nice.

I would recommend replacing the chicken wire on the windows with 1/2" hardware cloth. It doesn't take much for a raccoon to get through chicken wire. Will they climb up there, only time will tell.
We're pretty for

I agree 100%..... we're actually going to put windows in, but no one has this size in stock, and I'll definitely switch it out as we're building the run now and gonna use 1/2" hardware cloth. Thanks for me mentioning that.

Your coop looks great! I love that color, and the light over the door.

We bought plans from Morgan Creek and are compiling a materials list, hope to get building it soon. I think we will alter it slightly to make it taller, more comfortable to walk in the door and stand inside.

Mostly though, I want to do poop boards under the roosts and need to figure out how to do that. It might mean moving the roosts from the planned location.

Do you have any tips from your build?

It's purty!!
Can we see the inside too, please?

Are the soffit open or are the 2 louvered vents in the back the only winter ventilation?
