Coop Cam is up and running!

What kind/brand is it? How much is cheap? How far can it transmit? Can you watch it on your computer?

Its a Linksys WVC54GCA. This is not the best thing out there but it does what i need it to. Yes its color and has sound! Yes I can watch them from my laptop anywhere there is a wifi connection.

It has good range, the coop is at least 65 feet away from the router.

I would post the link but Carolyn is super shy and doesn't want the entire world to see her lol.

With the software that comes with it only 4 computers at once can view it, but my geek son has somehow figured out a way to link it to his server so anyone with that link can view it.

And as far as it slowing my internet down, not gonna happen!!!!!! I would need 4 more of them to slow it down.

These cameras sell for 130ish new. I got mine for 66 bucks shipped on ebay.

We have one in the coop attached to the TV so we can check on them every once in a while to make sure they are behaving. We usually check it at bedtime to see them sleeping.

I have one in my coop too! It's a wireless one - hooked up to a small tv on my nightstand... I check on them off and on during the night if I get up.

I would love to be able to leave the sound on but it won't come in clear enough. Our coop is over 300' from the house and the picture is not clear and the sound is mostly static...

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a better camera!
