My Coop
My Coop
Can anyone recommend a battery powered wifi cam that can be placed in the coop? I have a decent wifi signal out there but no access to electricity. I will be away for a few days later this month and while I have a house sitter lined up to watch them and our cat, I’d also like to be able to lay eyes on my chickens as well while away.

We have been really happy with this one though it is not battery operated. Baby Monitor Camera, Wansview 1080PHD Wireless Security Camera for Home, WiFi Pet Camera for Dog and Cat, 2 Way Audio, Night Vision, Works with Alexa Q6-W … https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y3RV1K...i_RE93X5DNVZXS3WBAF176?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1We have a small solor panel and battery on the coop to run the heater for the water light in winter auto door and the camera. It might be worth looking into if you have anything else you might want to plug in. You can get a decent solor set up for 100 to 150 if you keep and eye it and look for sales at harbor freight and/or northern tool.

I have Blink cameras all around my house. They are battery powered, fairly cheap, simple set up and should serve your purposes.
I have been checking those out on Amazon. Do the batteries really last a couple years? Do you use the cloud or local sync? Looks like one of those would be useful if you were monitoring more than a coop.

I used these around my house and the batteries lasted a year. I dont use them any more since we needed a little bit of a better camera. Switched to the arlo cameras. In my coop i use a wansview camera but it is plug in. Not sure if they have battery operated. But i highly recommend the arlo or the wainsview.

Maybe if you have it on the lowest quality? But I've never had them last more than a few months at most. I bought rechargeable lithiums help with that though.

I use the cloud. I have 11 of them around our house.

I did get solar ones for when we move to the coop but I haven't actually tested them out yet and they were a bit pricier. If it was something you were going to use all the time, it might be worth it but it your just looking for a one time/occasional thing I probably would just do the Blink camera

I'm linking the solar ones I got incase you want to check them out.
