Looking for some security cameras for my chicken coop. I do not have a WiFi signal at the coop. Only at the house. But I do have electricity at the coop. Are there any good cameras that would work with out WiFi. All I see on Amazon for cameras are ones that need WiFi.
Any ideas?

I'm working on a Raspberry Pi 3 camera for my nest box. If you can run a Cat 5 cable to your coop or put a WiFi repeater out there it's a good solution. I have some IP cameras but the security is a PIA. I'll be starting a thread about the camera build in a bit. I just found the software for the camera and it works great, it "just works" as opposed to other solutions I've tried.

Interested in this too. I'd really hoped for wireless with remote monitoring via a phone app, and have wifi where i need cameras, but I have a very slow internet with frequent disruptions. I'm at the far edge of DSL for my area and fear it won't work here.

I guess I could run the cables easily enough. I have to doubt remote monitoring will be an option though with these speeds. Very annoying, not like I get a discount for this substandard service level.

If you buy a DVR with cameras from Amazon, then you just run a cable and forget about it. It carrys the power and everything. If you don't have power at the coop, then that's perfect. You can buy extra lengths of cable for cheap.

I have a cheap WIFI camera in my coop because my signal carries that far, and im happy with it. its not rated for outside use, but its inside my coop and doesn't get wet, and it has held up fine.

JT has the solution, run a cat 5 cable and extend your wifi, that opens up a lot of solutions.

I found a POE splitter on Amazon so I just need to run the Ethernet cable out to the camera location. The POE splitter splits out the power with a plug for the RPi. You do need either a POE injector or a POE switch.

If you use Ehternet cables, just make sure they are outdoor cables. The outside of the cables aren't made to be in the weather and will break down, and the ends will not be weatherproof meaning corrosion may occur and mess it up. CAT 5 cables can be run for a max of 100 meters.

Make sure to do your research before you use a indoor cable, outside.
