Those are some pretty little birdies you have there, what are they?My coop is also a converted shed with an attached run. I am a retired teacher, so I use a big 4’ x 6’ white board, because it is smooth and easy to clean, under my roosting boards. I have pine shaving/flakes everywhere else in the coop. I put PDZ and DE on the white board under the roosts. Although, the four girls will tend to get shavings under the roost bars, too…lol. Each morning, I sweep up the pop board and then reapply PDZ/DE. That’s it. There is seldom any poop in the pine shavings, but if I see some, I just sweep that little bit in the dust pan and then replace the shavings as needed. Overall, it is a half to one inch deep all around. Their run is sand.
I have two white leghorns and two blue Australorps. I also have a black australorp and a speckled sussex that are waiting to be integrated in a couple of weeks. Thank you! Those are some pretty little birdies you have there, what are they?
