Coop Construction halted SNOW!! pixs

We got 12" here to the north of you. Everything came to a halt here. I managed to throw tarps over my runs last night but the wind is blowing it in. Good job on the coop though, hopefully they'll be a thaw pretty soon.

Hi Neighbor! I'm in Kernersville.

Went outside this afternoon to find my almost 3 month old Brown Leghorn up in a tree. I don't know if she was out all night in the snow or what but she didn't seem to mind it. I had a heat lamp that I've been running 24/7 since yesterday. Guess she didn't like it. Silly bird.

Did you see we might get more snow next weekend? That's what Fox 8 is saying.

Our local television stations showed parts of your storm- I know you have had a terrible winter. The only useful thing is that you are building in winter, as we did, so you will adjust your coop to suit harsh times. Still, I'm sorry to see the southeast in a mess.

If it makes you feel any better, we're tending poultry at -12C with chill factors in the -20's and it is expected to last a week.

I don't know how you do it. It was 43 F here and I was worried about the girls. It was their first night out in the coop (they are now 10 weeks old) I guess I must be in the "way to over protective" mothering stage. They are my first chickens.

I admire your sense of humor and passion for life...actually you crack me up, that's a good thing. I appreciate your support on my build and yes building in winter does instill a better build...but dang this is the coldest wetest winter I've experienced here (20 yrs). I'm a so cal beach boy..don't like the cold, wet, wind lol
I looked at the site, amazing I never thought NS was so metropolitan, looks nice. I've been in many Canadian towns/cities and am sure NS is as clean and pristine as the rest, that's something Americans just don't get.

How's the fishing.....
Got all the snow off the roof today, too much weight for not having the siding on yet. Actually the melt is going on nicely so progress may resume by Mon-Tues

As you know you can give no creedence to the weather report around here beyond 48 hours.
NO MORE SNOW I NEED TO FINISH MY COOP

l..... can I tell you how cold my fingers and toes were... but we need to get done, spring is LOOMING! Oddly mid week last week it was plus 6 with torrential rain..thats your mid 40's

I hope you can get back to it shortly, I can't imagine having feather out birds indoors, my baies are going in my workshop inside the house.... it's bad to have to share my workshop but I can condition the cat and the dogs to the chicks so hopefully the dogs won't bark continually....

Keep us posted

I replied to Shelly's post and included answers to comments that you posted...my bad, maybe I just "knew" the two of you were neighbors.
ok maybe not
Lynn ,
I appreciate your posts and your loyalty to your hobby/pets in any small number with or with out a negative sign in front of it for the temperature. When it's cold the number is means nothing.

how about pixs of your NS snow birds
