Wife & I will be attending an estate auction next.

I already have a coop ( converted utility shed ).

There will be a 6' x 10' insulated coop for sale. Viewing of pictures would lead me to believe it is new & quality construction.

Any ideas on cost? Not the reason for going to auction, but if the price is right............

Thanks

I don't know what it looks like becuase there were no pictures posted but a local company makes chicken coops and a 4x8 which had windows, perches, nest box's already installed and delivered to site was about 800. Just a reference as who knows how old this one is, condition, how hard it would be to move it etc.

Its a quality build, had no idea they could get that expensive. If its auctioned while we are there
I may do some bidding. When the recession hit it lowered "some" of the silly bidding going on @ auctions. I have the equipment to move it. Already have a coop & father inlaw would like to bring one he has to my property. So the price would have to be very good.

Materials are expensive! Do you know if the coop has "human" windows in it? A well made, insulated coop of that size could cost over $1000 in my area just to build, not even talking for profit. I know, because we build our own here, and we always insulate them (insulation drives up material costs too). You're very lucky in that not many people have a way of moving a coop of that size. I'm betting that that fact alone will drive a very low price on it. I'll bet you could get it for $250 or less mostly because it would be a "b" to move it. I'm envious!

Coop has 2 windows above nesting boxes ( nesting boxes on on side...roosting bars on the other )

Live & do alot of outdoor work around the amish.

I would be surprised if its not a amish build.

The owner was not......as the coop is wired.
