coop design question

I have decided to build another coop! My last coop had poultry wire with squares about 1cm by 1cm. every day when I clean the coop I notice the poop gets caught on the small squares, and I need to hose it down (literally). I am planning to use the hexagon shaped poultry wire. Will the bigger holed wire actually get the chickens feet caught in the holes?

Chicken wire isn't very strong, and a mink or a weasel can fit through the holes. I don't know if their feet can get stuck. They might.

I'm new to all of this also and have read many posts that say that having wire underfoot wasn't all it's cracked up to be and they eventually put plywood over the wire.

Why not build a coop with a dirt floor?

what are the advantages of that? can I still move the coop frequently?

Mine was made to stay put, but there are many different ways to design a coop. It sounds like you would want a chicken tractor.
