coop design questions

ok that one is only $14.33 a panel in stock near me. Then there is this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gibralt...l-29-Gauge-Roof-Siding-Panel-987601/314709085 for $25.10 that I would have to have shipped to the store. So figured for almost $11 a panel difference.......
I understand. I expected you would have a $14 "wavy" option at 8', and a $16 (or perhaps $17) 5v pattern available to you - that's the case for me. Surprised by your store's stocking options.

and yes, at basically double the price, its not worth it. Not even close. But I would recommend spending a few minutes on the internet shopping around. I don't know MA (at all), but it **seems** like you should have more options than I do in the middle of nowhere (deliberately).

It must be loading the wrong store for me from your link, as it shows availabiluty. Sorry, tried to help. Do you have Lowes, or Menards?
tha tis ok. we do have lowes so I will check there as well. who knows maybe I will find it in the store even though they don't show it online.

Well good thing I was already talked into an 8x8 coop even though my husband didn't know the size was changed. We just added 2 EE to our order so now will have 10 chickens. So they wouldn't have fit in the 4x8 that we originally planned on. I promised it would stay at 10 for "this year" Haahaa.

ok didn't want to start a new threat since I am trying to keep all coop building questions in one place so I can find them when we start building next weekend.

Here is my question. I was thinking about how to set up what inside the coop. It will be a few feet off of a 6' fence on one side so wasn't sure what I want there since I don't really want it in the "way" of the space to walk by. so I may do the roosts on that side but there will be a window on that side as well and not sure how high the coop is going to be but on the edge may only be 4' so wasn't sure if I would want the roost under the window since there may not be a big enough space between the chickens and the window?

Also has anyone ever put their human door next do the chicken door inside of the run? The one to access the coop. I was thinking this would basically free up the other 3 walls for nest boxes, roosts, windows but didn't know if there was a reason I didn't really see this done when I tried to search for it. If anyone doesn't remember and doesn't want to go back the coop will be 8x8 (and I am a bit shy of 5' tall so 4' edges won't be that hard to clean under if that is what they send up being. LOL)

Do you have any kind of a sketch layout that shows your coop and run?
My run door is pretty close to the pop door, makes a smaller space to clear the snow away for access to both.

@Chad Oftedal has a great 8x8 layout.
just a really really bad one sketched on plain paper and not to size. hahaaa it will have a covered run connected to it so I won't have to clear snow at the doors at least. and thinking of putting the run door on the side at the covered part or right next to the covered part of the run so I don't have to shovel the uncovered part of the run in order to get in there. I need to try to sketch something out but I am SO bad at things like that.

Thanks I will have to check out that layout. I did see quite a few that have their poop boards over their nesting boxes so was thinking of that. But trying to keep the roosts on the lower side since I will have brahma's and read that because of their size the roosts should not be too high.

oh also how far above their heads (or the roost bar) should a window be if i do put the roost bar under a window? The window will be able to be closed (think it is a regular house window so thinking of putting it in sideways. My husband has a couple of older ones at his shop and has to pull them out to look at them) and only open on warmer summer days.
