I'd get my own coop. I realize this may not be in the cards. Hopefully she will let you drill some holes. Why does she not have her chickens there now? Did she give up because they got sick?

She had chickens like 20 years ago. I did have a coop of my own, but it turned out to be in terible disrepair so she offered to let me keep them here. This is temporary x 1 year.

How many birds are you keeping?

10 cheeps. 4 Rhode Island and 6 leghorns but the Rhode islands have a lot of white feathers (at week 5) so Im wondering if they will turn all brown or if I've ended up with a cross between the 2.

Coop looks big...they’ll probably be fine...

Leave the front/wire door open as often as you can.
