In the past I have lost a few chickens to unknown predators. I live in New England and we pretty much have everything, hawks, raccoons, coyotea, foxes, etc. I am currently making some modifications to my coop for my new batch of girls. I was wondering what door closures people use? I found these for the nesting box doors, but I am wondering about the people door that enters into their run? Right now I have a hook and eye closure that works, I am just not sure it is 100% safe.
Here are the nesting box closures, I used 3

Just like aart stated above. Hasp and Carabiner work well. If you would post a pix of your door, I could easily make a better suggestion once I see it.
Raccoons are dexterous, and can open many latches. That is why we need to outsmart them. Feel free to ask anything else.

A raccoon will be able to pop that open in no time. All of my doors have a lock that can only be opened with a key similar to the one pictured. I read it here once and made sure to do it. Havent had a break in yet.

Might need to add a block for hasp installation.

Raised a red flag(circle)...Not sure if that outlet is under good cover, but it should at least be pointing down so it can't gather water.
