We had floods here in SW Alabama the other day and my coop has a dirt floor but took on a lot of water and debris..there were about two feet of oak leaves and sticks and sandy dirt in the coop. I have hauled all the debris out and am back down to the damp earth. No standing water, just damp. It's pretty sandy dirt so it drains off quick..
My question is should I put DE on it or wait...also can I put some hay down on the floor or should I wait?
My goats and chickens have to share the same pen/shelter now because I lost fence in the goat pen. I'd like to give the goats something to bed down on instead of the cold dirt.
Any suggestion about the DE and hay would be appreciated .
