I have 4 chickens and a pretty small coop and my chickens are about 19 weeks old i have only gotten one egg about 4 days ago it is winter so i wanted to leave a heat lamp on all the time because it is wisconsin winter so i think i should remove the heat lamp what are your thoughts?

The deep bedding method in the coop works, it stays nice and toasty in there! (With no over heating or fires)

I personally wouldn’t use wood chips, they probably aren’t the nicest thing to lay on, Id suggest pine shavings or hay. I’ve also heard of hens getting crop issues with wood chips :/
