My coop isn't insulated so I am wondering if it would be best to use a higher watt bulb in the heating lamp?? I have a 65 watt one now but am thinking of switching to a warmer bulb come "real" cold weather here in central wisconsin??
Thanks
Amy

If you are in Wisconsin and going to use a heat lamp, you REALLY REALLY wanna insulate your coop -- it will save you a *lot* of money!!

Seriously.

Can be scrounged materials, needn't be expensive. BUt it will do a world of good, in terms of letting you use lower wattages if you really still want to use electric heat, and in terms of reducing the number of months in which you have a lamp turned on.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat
