Coop is well underway!

Been working like crazy to get the coop finished before the birds are big enough to move in. Size 4x8 raised coop with external egg boxes. Run is 8x16 with 4x8 covered. Right now have 10 birds with 2 of them being tiny bantams.

The entire run will be done in 1/2" x 1' hardware mesh. The stone blocks sit on an apron of 2' hardware mesh that is 1/4" by 1/4" squares. I am building a fortress here. We are painting the entire structure to match the colors of the house.

I think it takes just as much time to plan it out as it does to build it! DH and I are going out this Sat. night, the first in a looooong time...I better have all my coop issues solved or I'll be scribbling run plans onto the dinner napkin!

Love the color too! Planning, building, decorating...do we even need the chickens?
