Well into retirement I am planning to now come back to raising 25 chickens or so and the coop is the largest problem. I have looked at Home Depot and Lowes storage shed/buildings as the basis for a well protected building for my "girls" but find them a bit pricey and most are offered as built by them only. I am looking at an 80 square footer as the basic size plus covered range areas as we have hawks.

Can anyone point me in a better direction or share experiences? Many thanks, Overbore

Check out the Coop Design pages, if you haven't already done so. There are alot of great ideas there to help get you moving in the right direction!

We have two coops that are pre-fabs...

Modified Chick-N-Barn/Yard and The Kid's Playhouse Coop.

Hope this helps!
