Coop made from recycled materials

Very good job. I like it.

But I have to be honest I have a major concern and that's the chicken wire. Raccoons and a determined possum can and will rip through it to get at birds. Do you have wire buried around the parimeter to prevent digging predators?

You have to upload your pics using photo bucket or the one BYC provides not sure if you can do it from your iphone just email them to yourself then upload to photobucket use the IMG tag to post them to the forum. Here are some better instructions can't wait to see the pics!!!

Also coop is close enough to house where I can hear if anything is going on at night I'm a lite sleeper and can see the entire coop from my bedroom window i would say that the coop is only 30 40 yards from back porch all i would have to do is open the door in our bedroom grab the 12 gage thats right by it and take action!!! LOL I mentioned to my wife about installing a baby monitor to hear better if any predators are trying to get in and she laughed at me and said im obsessed with my chickens but I thought it was a good idea

eggcellent coop! amazing job, great run too.
i am hoping to build a recycled coop as well
i am even thinking to go so far as to use cut up tires instead of hinges on the coop door

My coop is 30 feet from my bedroom but I still went hardware cloth as I can't guaranty the coons won't be faster than me. Of course, you can't beat free. Nicely done!

Hmm you guys have me concerned will mesh golf netting work? I think I remember reading somewhere that raccoons wont mess with it cause there afraid they will get caught in it

Total cost....$0. Had two hinges laying around as well as a wood knob and a latch. All of this came from pallets that had tile in them. Two days to remove nails. 1 day to build putzing around. Coop is for qauil. Wire is hardware cloth. Looks realy cool.
