UPDATE ON THE COOP
I don't think I mentioned that we started with almost no tools. Between purchasing tools and supplies, we have invested around $400 in the coop. I think that is a fair investment in my feathered friends. The coop is on a slight hill so we opted for an apron instead of digging. The original idea of the screen door would not work with the angle of the roof line so we opted to build a new door.
We need to stitch the hardware cloth or possibly crimp it if we can find a tool for that. I know sections of the hardware cloth look a little rough but following the roof line was a challenge.
The ladies are more than ready for their new home.
