I positioned my coop with a window to the south (for sunshine during winter - it's shaded by trees in summer) and the run on the north side of the coop. While the run tends to be really sheltered from weather, I do wish that I had at least SOME exposure to the south so that they could get more sunshine. Living on the north side of the coop, they are always in the shade. That's not altogether a BAD thing, I just wish for some more sunshine for them. It was something that I never really considered before the coop was finished, so it's good that you're thinking about it now...
