Coop Ramp Pitch

How steep is to steep for a ramp into the coop? Is 45 degrees to much or can it be even steeper? My coop is about 40" off the ground so I need to know how far out to start the ramp.

45 is fine. Steeper will work. Just make sure they have sure footing in the form of treads for traction.
