Coop ramp question

I have 4 silkies and they are having trouble going up and down the ramp to their coop. It seems they are sliding on the wood.

So my question is, should I put more strips of wood across the ramp, or could I put
sandpaper down between the strips of wood already there?

I'd put a few more strips of wood on.

Maybe the ramp is too steep for them. You could try making it a little longer to make it easier to climb. Adding more strips would probably help too

Put a rock or brick under the bottom to see is that is enough for them to get up and down. Yes the sandpaper could work and if you find that you need to leave it as is, then additional slats would give them the traction they need. How old are these birds? Perhaps it is just a matter of time until they are big enough to 'make it.'
