Coop-related people injury, learn from my mistake!

Thank you so much for the heads-up to the rest of us. I hope you're back to normal and knitting soon.

I just finished my dog house turned banty coop and run with the exception of wheels or an easier way to move it. I don't have anything attached to the dog house portion that weighs about $130 lbs to move it, so I grab a hold of the back roof over hang, lean back and jerky pull it to a new spot. Then do the same with the 8' long run portion that is much lighter.

I'll be posting pics soon seeking advice on how to attach wheels or something. I bought lawn mower wheels but didn't get bolts long enough to go through the pallet skid base and I put a foot of hardware cloth apron around the pen part, so now I don't know how to attach the wheels with the hardware cloth in the way.

Haha yeah, just be sure you have a foot out behind you when you pull!

I just updated my BYC homepage with a photo tour of my 3rd chicken tractor (in 4 months). I solved the problem by using some scrap gutters that had been torn off my neighbor's house during a winter storm. I cut them down to size, and slipped them over the skids like slippers. Works great!

If I didn't have scrap gutters, I would hunt up some heavy-duty plastic. Even some cheap transparent vinyl shower curtains would work - better than just dragging it on the wood skids, anyway.​

I broke my arm in May of 2004--right arm, right handed, like you! It BLEW my summer plans: no riding, no painting, no "everything that required my right arm!"

Oh,well...better thatn a concussion...
