Yes i have a question, our coop got destroyed during hurricane helene, my chickens were safe in my home, we just started to rebuild all over again and we put osb wood on the roof. my question is can I use a Elastomeric roofing coating to protect it from rain ect. I would use metal but that is to expensive right now thank you.

IMO it won't last unless you do a really thick coat of elastomeric paint, thick enough to hold down the little pieces of wood when the OSB eventually wants to start delaminating and at this point the $ for the material may have you looking at alternatives. OSB is a common decking used underneath shingles if you wanted to go that route; aesthetically might look better than paint

Locally, metal roofing is about $1/sq ft, and requires no more supporting structure than plywood. Quality plywood suitable for outside use is a little cheaper, maybe $0.70/ sq ft, but you are still looking at more than another $1 / sq ft in materials to cover it.

You **might** be able to find a small sheet of self adhesive underlayment (of the sort used on flat, and nearly flat roof) to cover your plywood at a price cheaper than a gallon of elastomeric paint.
