Mine is horrid in the spring.
I dug a ditch all around the perimeter, and tried to contour the soil so that the water doesn't head straight towards my chicken shed.
All of that ditching helped the area dry out faster last summer, but we shall see if it works well during break up.
My point: first see if you can get rid of some of the water that is causing the problem, then build up the level of your run with sand or what not.
