Trying to join my dog pen run to the coop but the 12 inch overhang on the coop wont allow the fence to but up against the coop

what do i do?

pics would help us give suggestions?

can the dog run be cut off on that end to allow it to go under the overhang, OR could you get it as close as possible, and tie in some hardware cloth to bridge the gaps?

I would end the fence even with the eaves, sink a post and build a gate or frame and cover with wire to fill in the gap.
