Coop size question

How many large breed chickens (Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rock)will fit in a 4' x 8' coop that is 7' tall (I started a coop with out thinking of the capacity)? If I split the coop into two floors could I house more?

Currently I have 3 Buff orpingtons and 8 Barred Rock chicks. I am not sure of the sex so the total number may go down depending on how many roo's I get.

Eight, if you go by the 4 sq ft per bird. If you split it up, you may create more problems for yourself, by making it not as accessible for cleaning. Air quality will suffer if you lower the ceiling, in my opinion. Depends on how you do it, maybe.
