Love the screen name, Im a jeeper as well, love the coop.

But I digress: To answer to OP's question, I once tried housing three RIRs in a 2.5x4 coop… free ranging during the day....yeah, big mistake. Between the bugs (not the friendly kind), and the attitude, it was less “ideal farm life” and more “tiny feathered chaos.”

So I always say 'build it bigger' (same idea for my tires on my jeep- haha).
