Coop Size

Depends on the climate... Here in MN I like to give my birds 10 square feet of snow and wind free space. If you are in a cold climate, you might be able to get away with a little smaller, but I wouldn't push it or you will see feather picking. Hope this helps!

that depends.... Do you plan to free range, if so full time or part time? What size are your hens? What are winters like in your area? Do you plan on hatching chicks in the future?

I live in Alberta, Canada. The coop will be insulated and heated for the winter... the run will be about 8x15. We have lots of wildlife where I am, so they can't run free.
