is a 13 X 6 coop big enough for 17 hens they are free range birds but come back to the coop to lay and to roost.....

it is big enough for 17 but why such an odd number, is it already built or something? I prefer sticking to numbers that reduce wood cutting,4,8,10,12.. I'm building an 8x12 for my 17 chickens.

odd number because i just put a 8 foot adition to my existing coop.
cutting is no big deal when its totaly done i'll put some pics up i made it look like a old milk house and barn scale replica to my barn
gambrel roof and all....

I am new here and this is my first post, I have raised chickens for 20 some years and the rule of thumb I go by is 2 sf per bird. However over the many years I learned bigger is better when practical and having a walk in coop in is even better.
