smell was a concern my wife had when I first talked about getting into the backyard chicken thing, therefore I selected a spot a good ways from the house ( say 200+ feet ), well as I was building the coop I was carrying a lot of material a long way and once my baby chicks ( just got them Monday ) get in their coop I'm going to get my exercise going up and down the hill to the coop. Just saying might not want to get to far, as I am finding out the hard way, but it's good exercise.
