I have a question. I would like to spring clean my coop. It's been a long wet winter and the weather is getting nice, eventually.
Should I go ahead and treat for parasites in the coop. I use pine shaving and have lots of vents but they are birds.
Is it correct to assume that most chickens get parasites at some point? The are very healthy happy birds but I would rather be proactive .

Thanks for your help.

Treating the coop for parasites is always a good idea. Chickens will always have some bugs, but good management and allowing them to have dust baths helps keep it under control.

Thanks. I am afraid that the dust batsh have been touigh e3ven its been so wet here.
Can I use ashes from the fire place? Perhaps put it in a litter pan in the coop?

Wood ashes is good for dust baths, yes.
