We have a 6x11 coop that currently houses 1 guinea and 5 chickens. We would like to expand our flock and wanted to find out how much square footage inside the coop is recommended. They are let out everyday, rain, snow, or shine! We have it set up now that they can be considered pastured based on the outside square footage inside the electric fence (roughly 150sq ft per bird right now). We will also be expanding the pasture and if needed have room to make the coop are bigger. It is taking up part of a shed right now. Any input is appreciated!

Welcome to BYC!

The answer is.....it depends.
On many things...climate is a biggy, weather/predator protection can be too.

The 4/10 for coop/run 'rule of thumb' is a minimum IMO.
