Coop swap/change

Hi all,

I am almost finished with a new coop that we made from an old shed, its is much larger then our current coop.
Currently our coop has an attached run and our birds have roosted in the run (outside the coop). Most of them have never slept a night in the coop at all.
We want the birds to roost in the new coop and not outside anymore.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks on changing coops/roost to make this easier on the chickens?

When switching them to a new coop, chances are you will have to go thru the whole lock down thing again. Keep them in the new coop for a few days until they've figured out that's where they are suppose to roost at night.
Also if you have any place in the run for them to roost, remove it. A coop is a much safer place for them to roost at night, no matter how secure the run is.
