I found it here by googling my city's name, and going to the city home page. From there, there was a link for "municipal code". It took a lot of long boring reading to get to the part about keeping chickens, but now I also know alot about how long my dogs can bark

, and that I can't have a goat

. I don't know if Australian cities are set up the same way but I can only assume that there are local laws set up to govern what kind of animals can be kept in residential neighborhoods, and those laws have to be available for you to research.

Don't know - sometimes Aussie English is a little different than American

I doubt this is in your neighborhood, but take a look at this:

It might be similar to the laws in your city - at least it's a start. I found it by googling "can I keep chickens in Sydney Australia". You could try the same with your city's name.
