Coop upgrade questions

Instead of walk in, I made mine raised so the run extends under the coop. Cleaning is easy as it has a big door a one end and the floor of the coop is at about hip high so I can just rake it all out straight into a wheelbarrow or onto a tarp etc.

It can be predator proof with small enough holes in the wire. Which then makes it very difficult for the poop to pass through. It certainly offers lots of ventilation but there are other ways of getting it without a wire floor. And, yes, jumping off the roost onto wire can hurt the feet.

I don't think you want a wire floored coop in Ontario @truchickendiva .
Are you in southern or northern Ontario.

I agree depending on where you live will greatly influence your coop design. My favorite coop. I have wire under the roosts. I can easily rake the poop out. I have had no issues with predators but I also have electric wires that are behind the coops.

I'm in southeastern Ontario (Peterborough County). I think I'm maybe going to go with a Woods coop like @DobieLover suggested... what do you think?

Woods is an excellent design....if you built it correctly.
