We are moving our birds to a temporary coop while we complete their run and wait to receive the custom coop we ordered.

I'm super concerned about predator security, of course. The coop comes with sliding windows. We plan to add extra hardware so we can lock them down well, BUT what about ventilation? It's hot here and I certainly don't want my girls to overheat or suffocate. Should we just add extra hardware cloth to the inside of the window?

I keep my coop windows open all the time and have them covered with HWC. If the windows are oriented correctly (away from prevailing winds) even a windy rainstorm shouldn't be an issue.
