Hoops are much harder to provide protected ventilation in winter weather...
....plus cattle panels will bow to snow loads unless supported or kept clear.
HC might help stiffen and add enough additional strength/support.

The hoops will have framework for support, and will be attached to the coop.

Like to thank everyone for the tips. I've decided on a 6x8 with a slant roof.
My next question is on the roof. Should I put the tin directly on the rafters, or sheeth the roof first ?

You can sheath it first, but I always do purlins and attach to the purlins.

Roosts should not be more than 30 inches from ground as at risk for keel bone injuries if higher. Place poop tray below roosts for easy cleaning. Also don’t want combs directly at ventilation height near roof for risk of frostbite when roosting. Same no ventilation, roosts or nesting boxes in drafts in front of doors or windows.

my chickens fly 4 feet up than 2 more feet than 2 more feet until they are on the rafters. then in the morning they fly down they have the option of a 2 foot roost, but they refuse it.

Didn't think of condensation.. with open eves, front and back, would I get much condensation ?

I don't have any condensation problems in my coop or my shed. Pretty humid environment here.

Some breeds males or females of certain breeds may be flighty and if given foot holds may go higher but not always healthier especially as a bird ages. Some owners will clip wings if commonly seen at bigger heights. Mine do not fly above a couple feet and they do not fly in trees etc. as other owners report but I don’t have flighty breeds either. Mine have not had wings clipped but have no need. They also don’t hop fences etc. I would find a way to keep the birds out of the rafters as that’s a cleaning pain.

Whether your coop is a walk-in or a step-up you will want to stand straight in it. At the peak to be sure but also at a or close to the sidewalls.

even my Bo's and bramhas roost up there. We will be blocking of half of the rafters because of the poop on feeders and waterers
